SNOB IS A MOTHER AGENCY AND FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH WHAT ROLE A MOTHER AGENT PLAYS, HERE ARE SOME FACTS FOR YOU!

What is a Mother Agent?

Like a Mother, a Mother Agent is there to protect the Model and guide her career.  A Mother Agent works for the model.  In most cases, the Mother Agent is the person who originally finds or scouts you and then when you are ready.

How is a Mother Agent paid?

A Mother Agent does not charge the model money upfront.  They make money when the Model makes money!  In most markets, agencies take 20% commission from the models earnings as a service fee for managing their careers.  The agency then pays the Mother Agent half of that, or 10%, of the fee that the agency is already deducting.  It does not cost the model any additional money than what they would have already been charged.

Why do I need a Mother Agent?

To be a successful Model, you will need to be placed and travel all over the world with different agencies.  Having multiple agencies in different markets with different opinions can get very confusing.  So a model needs a main person to oversee all of these agencies and that person is usually your Mother Agent.  We are separate from an agency and are there to work on your behalf and help keep you and your agencies on the right track and organized!

What are some things to expect from a Mother Agent?

Here are some, but not all, things a Mother Agent will do on behalf of the model:

  • Help develop the Model
  • Help the Model build a portfolio or testing book
  • Help you with understanding model contracts, when offered
  • Giving general knowledge on the modeling business – terms used, important markets, policies, etc.
  • Book jobs for you in a local market to gain experience
  • Introduce you to the proper people all over the globe – people that you would not normally be able to get in front of if not for your Mother Agents contacts
  • Stay on top of your agencies to make sure that you are being promoted
  • Work with your agencies to make the right plan for your career
  • Help you organize your travel to various markets
  • Be there for you when you have questions or concerns
